Event description

East Anglia is the driest area in the UK and is particularly vulnerable to water shortages due to the challenges of climate change and a growing population. Efficient and sustainable water trading is vital to ensuring all stakeholders in the region have secure water supplies into the future.

Through the Watersource project, a collaboration between Wheatley Solutions, Anglian Water and Essex & Suffolk Water, a cloud-based platform has been developed to promote effective water trade and sharing between abstraction licence holders.

This talk will explore the existing obstacles involved in the practicalities of water trading, and the ideas that are being tested to promote collaborative water resource management in East Anglia and beyond.

Part of the CIWEM Water Resources digital series.
