Event description

The importance of a rounded SuDs solution including blue/green and grey

This 40-minute webinar dives into Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDs), exploring how to retrofit them in dense city environments, taking into account the requirements of legislation as well as any ideological views on water management. It will explore the role of blue/green infrastructure and how this can be supported by grey infrastructure. It will also look at the role of smart solutions in providing a well rounded approach to water circularity.

In this CPD-accredited webinar, here's what you'll gain::

  • Understand the key challenges faced by cities in the face of climate change including urban heat stress, urbanisation and air pollution. All of which cause design constraints on how a city would manage flooding and droughts.
  • Understand the need to move from a linear surface water management system to a more circular solution and how blue green can form a vital part of a holistic drainage solution.
  • Understand the vital role of grey infrastructure can play in managing urban city water management in conjunction with blue/green to manage large volumes.
  • Have a grasp of the role of smart solutions in weather mapping to provide water management in periods of flood and drought.

This course is approved by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management and attendance will contribute toward your continuing professional development (CPD).
