During 2020 we are celebrating 125 years of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. We were founded in 1895 by a group of people who cared about human wellbeing. The need they saw at that time was for safe sanitary conditions for all.

Since then we have been joined by people with wider interests and skills, people who also care and believe in what we stand for, with a vision of a safer, more sustainable world.

CIWEM is now a global community of water and environmental professionals. We were built by and through our diverse and engaged membership. In celebration of this great occasion, we are calling on you to share your stories, advice and reflections on the future.

We know our members do amazing things and believe that by coming together to reflect on the successes of the last 125 years and prepare for the challenges ahead, we will inspire the next generation of innovators and change-makers.
