CIWEM confirms Rachael Bliss as interim Managing Director

CIWEM director of operations Rachael Bliss has now taken up the position of interim Managing Director and will hold the reins of CIWEM until a new Chief Executive is recruited in early 2024.

CIWEM chair Annie Shepperd OBE said: “Since becoming the Chair of CIWEM I have been impressed by the professionalism of the team and I know I can rely on everyone to give Rachael the support and encouragement in the work she has agreed to lead.

The Trustees are grateful that Rachael has agreed to take on this role and we would like to thank her for her commitment and decision to support CIWEM in this way over the months ahead. Rachael has the confidence and trust of the Trustees, and we are looking forward to working with her.

Rachael will be leading several pieces of work as we build CIWEM for the future and that is a very full agenda. Rachael will be recruiting interim support to cover her substantive role.”
