We are delighted to announce the CIWEM members who have won and been highly
commended in this year’s Women in FCERM awards.
The awards, hosted by the Women in FCERM group, celebrate professionals of all genders and organisations in
the flood and coastal risk management (FCERM) sector, making a real difference
to gender equality in the workplace and across the industry.
This year, the awards were split into three categories:
- The Rising Star
Award: an individual who is
in the earlier stages of their career in FCERM, who has proactively influenced and promoted gender
equity
- The Equality Leadership Award: an individual who has proactively influenced and
promoted gender equality, diversity and inclusion across the FCERM sector
- The Laura Baird Special Recognition
Award: an individual who, throughout
their career, has been and continues to be, an outstanding role model to all
those around them in mentoring, guiding and raising the profile and
achievements of women in the sector.
The judges looked for individuals who acted as role models - showing gender
equality leadership, influencing change or promoting a fair, inclusive and
respectful culture. They also looked for those who stood out for proactive
self-development, empowering others or shining a light on women's achievements.
