CIWEM Trustee Board applications open

Our culture and organisational strategy is founded upon two principles: that we are relevant and accessible to all. This drives our passion to create an environment that is safe and encouraging for all people to express themselves and participate fully and to add the richness that a diversity of perspectives bring.

In 2020 we are seeking applications to fill a number of vacancies on CIWEM’s Trustee Board with high calibre people who will be able to shape the future of the water and environment profession as well as that of CIWEM itself.

CIWEM endeavours to have a diverse membership of the Trustee Board in terms of gender, ethnicity, age, experience and also from as wide a geographical spread as possible. To achieve this the Trustee Board would particularly welcome applications from female applicants, from members of ethnic minorities and from people located throughout all parts of the UK and Ireland. Preferred skill-sets sought in our 2020 programme include:

  • Senior level experience working in the regulatory authorities, the statutory agencies, Non-Government Organisations and relevant research institutes;
  • Experience in working in the water and wastewater companies;
  • Experience of working with Boards, Trusts and the Charitable Sector;
  • Relevant and contemporary understanding of climate change and current environmental issues; and
  • Experience in the field of professional development.

Trustee Board members serve on a voluntary basis but are reimbursed out of pocket travel and subsistence expenses for attending meetings and for undertaking certain activities on behalf of the Institution.
