CIWEM trustee Steve Thompsett awarded MBE

Steve Thompsett MBE, our Trustee since 2018, has been awarded Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), an honour given for his work and dedication to services to Water Management, Education and the Environment

Steve Thompsett MBE, our Trustee since 2018, has been awarded Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), an honour given for his work and dedication to services to Water Management, Education and the Environment.

Steve has more than 25 years’ experience working in water, flood and coastal risk management, on wider environmental issues, climate resilience, adaptation and sustainability, energy and natural resource management, across the private and public sectors, and is a past president for CIWEM (the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management).

Steve Thompsett MBE said: “I’m delighted to have been awarded the MBE for my work in water management, education and the environment. This is a huge honour, and I would like to thank everyone who nominated me and supported my work. It’s been a privilege to be an ambassador for CIWEM and support the important work that they do to build a global community of water and environmental professionals dedicated to working for the benefit of the public.

"This accolade has made me more determined than ever to continue to use my experience to improve the water environment which sits at the very centre of some of our biggest global challenges, whether in food production, meeting our energy needs or responding to climate and ecological change”.
