EngRec is back. The leading virtual fair for early engineering careers will take place online on October 29th.
Organised by the IMechE and Professional Engineering, the one-day virtual exhibition and conference follows a hugely successful first event last year. The 2020 edition attracted over 3,000 registrations, putting them in touch with many of the UK’s leading engineering employers.
This year, CIWEM is a proud partner and will be hosting a virtual exhibition booth at the event.
Here are five great reasons to attend:
1. Give your CV directly to leading companies
How often do you get the chance to directly give your CV to employers that you know are actively recruiting engineers? In EngRec’s virtual exhibition hall, it couldn’t be easier.
Exhibitors include some of the biggest names in engineering – the Royal Air Force, BAE Systems and the National Grid are already confirmed. Hilti, which services the professional construction industry, will also be exhibiting.
2. Attend a free seminar programme
The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted education and training since the start of 2020, posing a real challenge for students and trainee engineers. Thankfully, EngRec 2021 will have a range of expert speakers across a variety of sectors, covering critical topics to support anyone building or starting their engineering career.
The free seminar programme will take a deep dive into industries including aerospace, automotive, energy, manufacturing, biomedical, rail and construction, with potential topics including skills for the digital revolution, Covid-19’s impact on jobs, and collaboration in engineering.
Confirmed sessions so far:
· Welcome, industry overview and Q&A – IMechE
· Sustainability and what it means for the future – Coventry University
3. Speak directly to universities
Considering your higher education or planning a masters? EngRec 2021 will feature universities offering some of the world’s leading engineering courses, able to give you advice on the right path for you. Confirmed exhibitors include Coventry University and the University of Plymouth.
4. Apply for jobs on the day
Applying for jobs can be a pain – endless forms and cover letters can make the process painfully slow, frustrating and delaying the start of an exciting career.
EngRec 2021 aims to simplify the process. Load your CV into your profile, browse vacancies, then apply for jobs on the day.
5. Network with working engineers
Sometimes it can be difficult to get direct answers to your burning careers questions – but not at EngRec 2021, where you can virtually meet leading companies and speak to their engineers. Employees will happily share their own personal experiences, offering you guidance and tips on how to progress within your career.
