The Environmental Photographer of the Year (EPOTY) is going to COP26!

Energy & Climate Change

We are pleased to announce that EPOTY has partnered with the New York Times to host the 2021 photography exhibition at The New York Times Climate Hub.

The NYT Climate Hub bridges the gap between the COP26 summit and the public, creating a physical and virtual space where influential leaders and thinkers can join forces with the wider community to debate, discuss and discover climate ideas and innovations.

The Environmental Photographer of the Year provides an international platform to raise awareness for the environmental issues that put our planet at risk. The New York Times Climate Hub is the ideal platform for professional and amateur photographers alike to tell compelling narratives through photographs that educate, spread hope, and inspire action to respond to our rapidly changing climate.

“As the world looks forward to the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) and United Nations Climate Change Conference, it is essential that we advocate for a low-carbon way of living and stress the importance of adapting to a changed climate. There is no more powerful way to do this than through imagery,” said Terry Fuller, Chief Executive of CIWEM.

The competition is free to enter for all ages. In addition to the exhibition, participants will be competing for cash awards including £10,000, a Nikon Z Camera + 3 Nikon lenses, and more across 8 categories, and for the top award of The Environmental Photographer of the Year 2021.

The 2021 Environmental Photographer of the Year competition is open until 14th August at www.epoty.org.
