Professional Standards Committee 2024 applications open

Applications are open to fill vacancies on CIWEM's Professional Standards Committee (PSC) - apply by Monday 08 April 2024.

We are seeking applications to fill vacancies on CIWEM’s Professional Standards Committee (PSC) with high calibre people who will be able to shape the future of the water and environment profession and safeguard and promote CIWEM’s professional standards.

The role

The PSC is responsible for ensuring the admission process into membership and that professional registration meets the highest standards. The committee champions the professional needs of members and promotes excellence in standards throughout the Institution and the wider community. Individuals will also be invited to sit on the Business, Science Sub-Committee (BSSC) or Engineering Standards Committee (ESC), sub-committees of the PSC who are responsible to enacting CIWEM’s quality assurance and quality control procedures for determining the outcome of non-Engineering Council (BSSC)/ Engineering Council (ESC) related Chartership applications.

As a serving committee member you will have the opportunity to work in a team environment and together with other committee members uphold the standards and shape the strategy of the leading institution in the water and environmental sector.

Joining the PSC means you are supporting future generations and helping CIWEM to build a global community of professionals who are dedicated to working for the public benefit. Membership of this committee makes a very clear statement to your peers that you personally exhibit and uphold excellence in professional standards. You will gain experience from participating in a committee and governance environment, which will elevate your professional work and standing.
