Infographic – global-majority heroes of land, water and planet

Gaverne Bennett, creator of The Guardian Black History Timeline and the British Library Black Literature Timeline, has charted the history of the water and environmental sector in an impactful timeline infographic for The Environment magazine's first Global-Majority takeover issue.

On the timeline Bennett said: "I have been working on timelines and various other graphic projects for 10 years now but and I feel this infographic is by far one of the most important I have ever worked on. Not only does it feature inspiring stories from the water and environmental sector past, but it also provides inspiration for future generations.

“Together the Global-Majority heroes featured are rising up to and resolving the challenges of climate change, including working to preserve one of the earth’s most precious resources: water."
