Proudly hosted by CIWEM, the Workplace Wellbeing Academy brings you the first in their series of training on workplace wellbeing, Mental Health Essentials.

This course provides you with an understanding of mental health, mental illness, and mental health issues. It also offers practical tips on how to manage your own mental health and support those around you who may be struggling. It is an invaluable course that will help you to gain a better understanding of mental health and how to support those around you.

At the end if this course, participants will be able to:

Distinguish between mental health, mental illness, and mental health issues
Show how individuals can manage their own mental health
Provide information on how to support someone who may be struggling with their mental health

Who is this course for?

If you are interested in learning about mental health and how to support someone who may be struggling this is the course for you.


It will step you through some of the common misconceptions around mental health and help you to be more confident in discussing topics relating to mental health with pairs, colleagues and staff.

Course Delivery & Duration

Delivered via the CIWEM Learning Platform, the course is self paced e-learning with tutor support available on the course discussion forum throughout. Study at your own pace and access support when you require it.


This course has a learning time equivalent to 1 hour. In total you will have four months access to the Online Course portal. Please note this is a guideline and learning times will vary person to person.
