PFR Industry Training Launching November 2021

A consistent and competent approach to Property Flood Resilience (PFR)

Designed and delivered by CIWEM & Partners and commissioned by the Environment Agency, this comprehensive suite of Property Flood Resilience training unifies the PFR industry and establishes competencies for those delivering PFR in accordance with the Code of Practice for PFR. Competent and consistent delivery of PRF measures garnering confidence in the industry, and for the end user for safer more assured communities at risk of flooding.

The three unique sets of training content have been designed specifically to the requirements of each of the target audience.

Find out what some of the trainers involved in the development of the new gold standard of PFR Industry training have to say about delivering the PFR code of practice with COMPETENCE, CONSISTENTCYAND CONFIDENCE.

Audience 1: PFR INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

Designed specifically for industry professionals already delivering PFR services and measures, this training will provide specific technical training under each standard of the Code of Practice for Property Flood Resilience to upskill and align the industry on a unified approach to PFR delivery. Those completing the required training and demonstrating the relevant industry experience will be invited to apply to become a 'Certified Professional' in the delivery of flood resilience measures.

Audience 2: ENVIRONMENT AGENCY (EA) STAFF

  • An updated internal suite of PFR training for EA staff. Tailored to EA PFR Project Managers and service PFR Lead Officers who are required to identify and maximise funding opportunities for EA funded PFR projects. (Launching September 2021)

Audience 3: RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (RMA) STAFF

Roadshow style, large scale events to engage the wider PFR community and stakeholders. Targeted primarily at staff from Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA's), and water companies who are required to undertake the management of PFR projects. This training will also provide guidance for property and business owners on who to speak to and where to go when at risk, or concerned about the risk of flooding.
