Call for Applications: Journal of Flood Risk Management Associate Editor
Journal of Flood Risk Management invites applications for Associate Editor.
We are seeking to broaden and strengthen the editorial panel of Journal of Flood Risk Management through
the appointment of a new Associate Editor. The Journal covers all aspects of flood risk management and achieved an Impact Factor of 3.066 in 2019.

We are seeking one Associate Editor to join the Editorial Board. Our Associate Editors guide the peer review
process and make recommendations based upon reviews. There is a small honorarium associated with the
posts. Please contact the Editor-in-Chief if you wish to find out more about what the role entails before
making an application.
We are open to applicants from those working in any aspect of flood risk management. To apply for the role
of Associate Editor, please send your CV to the Editor-in-Chief, p.samuels@hrwallingford.com, along with
details of your particular areas of interest in flood risk management. However we would value applications
from those with expertise in one or more of the following topics: Civil contingency planning, Coastal flood
risks, Embankments and levees, Extreme value statistics, Hazard and risk mapping, Integrated flood risk
management, Loss-of-life estimation, Natural flood management, Resilience, Satellite data and remote
sensing.
As well as taking an active role in the peer review process, our Editors act as champions for the journal
within their community and networks. They also provide valuable support and advice to the Editor-in-Chief
and the owners of the journal on the direction and strategy for the journal. Attendance at twice yearly
Editorial Panel meetings (either in person or via remote link) is expected wherever possible.
Journal of Flood Risk Management is an official journal of The Chartered Institution of Water and
Environmental Management (CIWEM) and Wiley.
